I know you guys are making a lot more power than me for sure...but I thought this was respectable. I owe Mike B. and Ben and Matt a Huge thanks. I last tuned the car on the last Dyno day we had. It made 224/289.......

Today Ben worked some of his magic, and here's the new numbers.....

229 RWHP
302 RWTQ

Like I said you all are making huge power, but I am excited as I thought this is pretty good tq numbers from a stock 302......Also, Ben mentioned to me that the last dyno day the temp was 60 degrees. Today it was 87 degrees.
Temp difference should be good for a little bit more huh?

Nice numbers. They were rated at 225/300 at the crank from the factory which would have been about 191 give or take at the wheels.

Yeah that's right man, Mike's old red stocker coupe dynoed at 180 rwhp so a 40-50 hp gain is pretty awesome to say the least!

Peace

Anytime you're putting more down at the wheels than the car was rated at the crank, those are good numbers.

And you did it without heavy modification, so thats nice.

Those are the number I am shooting for. What mods do you have on you car to get these numbers?
I plan to run in a class where I need the following.
Weight 3250
HP 230-237
Torque 300 - 307

All motor/engine mods are:

1. MAC shotry un-equal lenth 1 5/8" ceramic coated headers
2. MAC Pro-Chamber H-pipe 2 1/2"
3. MAC 2 1/2" Pro-Dumps
4. MAC underdrive pullies (steel) on water pump and crank only
5. MAC CAI (with a stock MAFS)
6. Timing set to 14 degree
7. Chip done by Ben...gained me 5 HP / 13 TQ (air temp was 87 degrees to)!
Ben said that cooler air would be worth a little more of course.

You'll want to leave at about 5700 rpms on those slicks. I'll let James fill you in on where he leaves from. I vary from 5100 to 5900, depending on what I'm trying to do (good 60 foot, or max mph up top)

I am picking up the slicks on Monday or Tuesday from Curt from Stangbangerz. I am excited to say the least...a little nervous cause of the slicks but James has been giving me a lot of coaching-- thanks again:boldlblue:

Yeah that's a happy medium for me as when the track is hooking awesome, going from a 5,000 launch to a limiter launch is a solid .1 tenth gain every time for me, but when traction is mediocre I'll launch as low as 4,000. That's interesting on your experience with your launch rpm and 60' vs mph Adam, typically what rpm do you find gives you more mph?

It'll be cool Sean, your car will finally be able to come into it's own as you'll finally have solid traction! You'll do fine man it's going to be cool to see your reaction when you get some real traction! :ohcrap1:

Peace

5900 gets me 1.7xxx 60's, but mph of 107.5 - 108.5

5700 and 5500 have been wishy washy

5300 gets me 1.63 to 1.64 60's, with mph in the 105.75 to 106.5 range

All runs with 13 psi in the 10.5 ET streets.

I haven't gotten to "play" with it too much, as consistency is the name of the game with UMTR. I'll play in October when the race season is over.

Are you spinning more on the 5900 launch adam? If so that is why you see more MPH launching higher.

07-17-2009, 02:27 PM
That's some good information Adam looks like you've got it dialed in to get the results you want. Yeah John that's right I saw his 60' time varied from 1.7xx-1.6xx depending upon launch rpm.....mph is cool though.

My goal with playing with MPH is to see if I can even force it past the 110 mph mark. In a perfect world 110 mph = 12.0 et. Knowing that I average about 0.15 to 0.20 second slower than optimal et, I'll need better than 111 mph for an 11 sec pass. That's why I play, just to see if I could find that pass if everything went right.

More weight reduction plans are in the hopper!!!

Qtr milerocket

Yeah I'd say that this fall you'll see a quicker et and a faster mph than ever!......any hints on the "further adventures of weight reduction?"

Peace
