I agree 100% John Kilkare will run the last 2 Saturdays of this month but after Kilkare closes it's Tristate for at least the first 2 Saturdays (maybe longer weather permitting) and Edgewater till the end of November (weather permitting).............for the diehard racers of course! :D

wow that was exciting. I will post up video as oon as I can but probably wont be until tomorrow. Todd got some good footage also. Sure was nice to see everyone at the track. Allot of personal bests were set today, incredibly on a day with zero sun and 50 degree weather the track she was hookin.:bigrin:

I had a blast, I couldn't wait to get home and post up my new times. Track was a little slick at first but it started coming around the more runs we got in. Who ever thought of doing this today should be given a medal or something.

I've always cut some decent 60's there, but today I was hookin' consistent 1.65-1.66 (5 times for sure, but tower side laser wasn't working) I usually cut an ocassional 1.67 or 1.68. Too bad I couldn't figure out how to keep it going. I ran a 12.77, 12.78, 12.78, 12.81, but was consistently 1.5-2.5mph slower on my trap speeds. John and I got some nice heads up runs in. Looked like Christmas on a few of our starts; red and green lights all over the place. Left my hood open for our first run...not real bright. I still think that we could both run some better times. Neither of us were at 100%. My shifting was off, and I felt like a retarded bear at the circus behind the wheel today. Then Johns shifter was loose, and that caused some extra play that hurt his shifting. Good times fella's, we need to do this more often. See ya'll at Hooters next weekend.

yeeepppp !!!! we had a good turn out, had fun video taping, got round 1 of the 12 sec. titans(adam and john) which turned out great. i got johns time but couldnt get adams time, which i think john won round 1 but i left before round 2.

Wish I could of been there, but I would only of got kicked out. My son said he made it out in his blue coupe and ran some 13.30's on street tires. He has went 12.90's on DR's. My old motor is in this coupe in case anyone didn't know.

James was doing his usual unearthly stuff on the track. We had a blast , when the weather is this conducive to horsepower it brings a smile to everyones face. Just wanted to point out to James on my last run I went a 1.53 60 ft. with one wheel peel. Spool on order soon. This is the kind of event that spawned Gem City Stangs guys, lets keep it up!

I will admit that the car is running better than I expected. I figured it could get there with a bigger mass air and injectors. I also originally thought with some suspension work and weight reduction/relocation that the car could go 12.50. If I do both now the car could go a 12.3x. I am also considering some long tubes. Plus I have a Novi sitting in the garage.:bigrin:

I think needed a little more gas in the tank as well. I will gettting a little bit of pinging in the upper rev range in 4th. It doesn't seem to do it on the highway so I think I just need more than a quarter tank of gas. I am going to have to get some stickier tires before that rematch though.

Some how, even though I have one of the slower cars at the track, I ended up with 3 whites and 2 yellows. One of my yellows came when I ran out of gas after putting a couple car lengths on Cameron.:moon: Although he was on street tires and I have D/Rs.

Yeah man as I posted earlier before I left for the track that there may/should be some personal bests.......and it was an awesome time, yeah Rick you mentioned that 1.53 60' to me but I didn't see the launch of that run but the run prior to that one you picked both wheels up!. A spool is good but don't forget an Eaton Posi has been low 9's if you still want a posi that is!

Rich looks like your car liked that 20* :D I believe that your car is capable of a sub 12.3xx with the modifications you mentioned plus some welds and skinnies and 26 x 8.5" slicks, your car is extremely impressive now if you can somehow find the 1.6xx 60' range! :eek:

I forgot to play with my timing, I was getting a slight ping on the top end at 16* though. I forgot to get some 94 ultra before I left and the 92 I got at speedway wasn't getting it done.

David, I would guess that 16* initial would be just about the absolute most an iron headed motor would want. I'm still having a hard time believing I'm running 18* and was going to try 20*.
