Ok....long story short I am looking to sell the Cobra.
It is a real live 93 Cobra, not just a clone but the real deal from SVT. I need the money and I can't really hold on to it. It has about 107k miles on it. I am the third owner and bought it in June 1998 w/ about 50k on it. It has a few bolt ons, but has never had the intake or valve covers off. Bolt ons include: 75Mass/Cai/bbk shorties/pro chamber H/pro dumps and 355 gears and Centerforce dual friction installed new in 2000. Also just put on new alum radiator, pro form electric fan and Koni 5 ways last Dec. I have the original h pipe /headers/airbox/cat back that came with it. Interior is in excellent shape. Minor ding on passenger front quarter behind wheel. A couple of minor paint scrapes on front fender and side spoiler but for it's age and miles, it is in very good condition but is not perfect or brand new.
I will get some pics up soon. I would like to get 10k OBO.
Thanks,
Dave
edit...uh it is Vibrant Red. I know many of you aren't mind readers! :D

hey travis....what's up dude!?
Well, I still have the stroker coming..matter of fact I think it will be ready to go by the end of this week or beginning of next. It has been a while gettin' there, but Michael was able to work with me and it is now gonna happen. I think he machined it this week and will start assembly soon.
With sellin' the Cobra I am gonna be able to get some extra cash to help pay off some bills that I still have from the ex and also put a little bit away for that rainy day. I hate to do it but I gotta get some financial relief.
I will get some pics of the car up soon.

I have posted to cobra for sale on a couple of other boards. I would like to get 8000 for it. No trades...just need the cash.
Just had water pump and fuel pump replaced. Water pump is auto zone special...fuel pump is welpro 255lph I believe. Dayton 5.0 put em both on.

Pics taken with my digital camera....not the best but they are there. I was trying to show that one of the dash lights is out behind part of the speedo....I know it doesn't show the mileage. Trust me, it is at 108,000 !! :blwink:

Bump.... I really need to sell the Cobra...asking 7500..reasonable offer /cash in hand considered.
I would really like to keep it, but finances are tight...and probably getting tighter right now...I work for Delta and apparently the previous execs put much of my increased productivity savings and higher health care costs into their golden parachutes. Now we hear some form of pay cuts are coming....this ant needs to prepare for a cold winter.
I am in Northern KY/Cincy area, but could meet up to see the car. PM me or call me and leave v-msg at 859 466 8663
thanks Dave

Hey Gem City Stangs,
just wanted to bump this now that spring is in the air and I have had a couple of emails wondering if I still had the car. I do and I am asking 6500 now.
Garaged all winter, mileage is about the same as above, no new parts or anything since the last post.
I am not on the boards as much, so call me and leave a message. Probably the best way to get ahold of me.
Thanks,
Dave

In 93 this is what made a Cobra different from other mustangs.
Different wheels (17 inch)
85 SVO taillights
Different wing
Different ground effects
Different front fascia
4 wheel disc brakes
Gt40 intake
Gt40 heads (bigger intake/exhaust valves)
235 hp instead of 225 (I think by 93 Ford revised HP ratings to 205 in the GT, I know it was 215 in 94)
Smaller sway bars (why? better handling supposedly)
Lower spring rates too, softer shocks
10 1/2 inch heavy duty clutch (not sure if that's unique to the Cobra)
Edit: they built 5100 cobras in 93 and I believe 109 Cobra R's.
If I think of more I'll edit this post.

* 1.7 crane rocker arms with slightly different cam to make use of the larger heads
* 70mm mass air meter vs 55
* 24 lb injectors vs 19
* different computer to handle the larger injector size
* the 235 rating came at the same time as the revised 205 for the stock GT, so call it 255. It was also very restricted due to essentially fully stock exhaust.
* 17x7.5 rims vs 16x7 for GT allowing a 245/45x17 Goodyear
* ride was softened with the use of smaller front sway bar and different bushings in conjunction with softer rear springs for a better ride quality with no loss in performance. Stock ride and handling is night and day vs a GT. Shocks were revalved Tokico specifically for the 5100 Cobra's(107 of which were the R models, which would need another 100 lines to detail them)
* underdriven crank pulley and overdriven waterpump pulley (to maintain stock water pump speed but still gain some free power
* tapered roller pocket bearing on input shaft of T5 tranny to better handle additional power.
* hardened front yoke on driveshaft
* no cruise control available as it was designed as a weekend fun car for rich middle aged men
These changes are specific to the 93 which was the first Cobra model and the last of the older fox body style.

^lots of good info there.
also the rockers were aluminum rather than stamped steel in the GT.

very interesting, what times do they run stock?

Many people would get 13.9s at about 98-99 bone stock.

Ouch!! That hurts as my best with the different mods I have is about 13.98!! :( I blame poor traction due to 109k on the traction-lok in the dif! Uh, and driver skill might be in there somewhere too.
Also on the 93 Cobra, there was no tilt steering avail. Again, due to the intended "driver's" car theme.
I may just E-bay it there Katmandu. I know it can be difficult to buy something sight unseen, but that may be an option.
I am in the Cincy/Northern KY area....sorry if I missed anyone's call. Best time to see it/meet up would be Tues/Wed. Or if you are close, I can meet up after 4pm other days.
I go through these stages of "to sell it or not to sell" , but ultimately I have gotten serious with the g-friend and although she fully supports keeping the Cobra....I can't justify keeping it just for weekends and such.

Dave that sucks! I hate to see you get rid of your baby, but good luck with selling it. I think it's a hell of a deal and wish I had the money to buy it! Take care!

I missed somebody's call(s) on the Cobra. I still have it and it is still for sale. I got unpacked and found the water main leaking around a in house filter, so that gets my top attention, but I will be in touch about the car.
