As you all know Gem City Stangs is up and rolling now we just need to get out who we are with Shirts and Stickers. Im going to head up this department and i need feed back from all members interested. I need the logo posted so I can get it to the shirt shop for a estimate on shirts. Also what about logo options?, im not really in to the skull and crossbone deal (seems more like a biker thing to me). What about using the running horse or something mustang related too.

I think the running horse would work well, but maybe we could do some customization with it though?

I really like the skull and crossbones, I think it is sharp and different. Catches the eye. I think maybe starting with it, then moving to something else as it comes available. That way we are getting stuff out there quicker, and it gives people choices, too.

I think we should have the Gem City Stang thing across the chest on the front . and on the back the running pony and some kind of saying below it!

I have a design I used for a silkscreen back in highschool, about 7 years ago. Has a pony head, with almost elvis like hair, and a set of shades. I'll try and scan an image and post it up here later tonight.

Heres the deal. Getting everyone to like one logo or style will be impossible. Throw on top of that the money involved in creating really cool intricate stickers or screens is costly and everyone seems to be cost conscious. I spent quite alot of time after getting some good feedback with the old sticker design. I had a couple made and showed them at one of our get togethers. I designed one that wasnt the usual car pic with tribal flames and what not like you see everywhere else.
then other designs and opinions kept popping up.
I would love to see other designs that are followed up on with the legwork for feasability and costs. Maybe the place to start is to find out how many would get a sticker or shirt and how much they would be willing to pay.
Im through venting now....if I can help I am more than happy to.

Rick,
I will put up 50 bucks for stickers, and if you go havers with me, we can get your design to Matt and let him get us 10 shirts or so. I agree, we need to just get some made, then when someone else comes up with something, they can get theirs done, and we support each other by buying and wearing them. If you really don't like it, then don't get one, wait till you see something you like.
Shadez, I like your's too. Maybe you and Matt can get that one going, I would take one for sure. It would make a decent decal too.

Sounds alright to me, I will check with someone I know that does silkscreening and see what kinda cost we are looking at.

The design does not make a huge difference to me, just as long as the name gets out. I am willing to donate as much as I can afford.

Give me a shout when some cards are made that can be left on peeps Mustangs (shades of Team Blue Oval!). I can definitely distribute them out here at WSU and maybe Shadez can put some out at Sinclair.

We have them, they are at my shop on the counter, or you can come by one of the events and pick some up, too.

Since it appears that some of the members like the skull while others don't, I'm throwing another rough design in the mix. If you want to use the idea it is all yours to do with what you want.

Hey Mike and Rick, I like the Diamond and running horse design that AN89GT presented. Would look great refined a little bit, kind of like the old Dayton Gems hockey team logo (showing my age now). Don't want to step on any toes but I'd be willing to follow through or help with the logo project and maybe some shirts before the warm weather hits! :D Jeff

Your not stepping on anybodys toes. Go for it, like Mike said before we all have different tastes, lets get quite a few going and then throughout the summer maybe we will have a few good ones to choose from.

Cool design...good job. Keep the silkscreening process in mind when your designing. More colors = more screens=more money, shading, highlighting and silkscreening dont mix.
I have a source for the screening and printing part of it if you want my help. Prices are really good. I am having some made of the skull with flames and checkered flag shortly. Mike is ordering some also. I will post some pics as soon as they are done and if you want one just let me know and we will place another order. Looks like prices are going to be in the 7-9 dollar range for the shirt and printing altogether.

I went to a printer today to see about getting some type of card printed . The design is very simular to this refined design. When I get them back I'll drop it off at Michael's for opinions. I think it's a great design also! I'd also like to see some shirts and stickers but thought I'd start with this and see what everyone thinks. Jeff
I like it. :D
It is simple and should fit almost anywhere.
I will take a jacket for the cold nights with the top down.
OK it is Feb, so it is always cold with the top up or down.

With your thoughts on keeping it simple here is a revised design.
It would be an easy design to add color to.
I think that should make a great decal and shirt design. That way we will have two of them. I will take some of both.

I'm submitting my final version of the Gem City Stangs logo. I hope this will appeal to all. If not, well, draw your own.
I included dimensions that I think would represent a windshield sticker (the larger one) and a quarter window size. These are the sizes that printed out from the bitmap image.
Whoever wants to be responsible for having stickers, cards etc. printed up please contact for the bitmap image or hardcopy.

I think you should decide since you're the unofficial official royal poohbah.

I was at the printers last Wed. and he called me today and said I could stop by and look at what he had ready tomorrow at lunch.
If it looks decent I'll have some printed and drop them by Michael's. I used Steve's basic design with a little of my own input and the printers ideas! I liked having the wording (GEM CITY MUSTANGS) overlap the top and bottom of the diamond. In all capital block lettering.
I told him to use the personal invitation line from Michael's skull and crossbone cards along with the site address. Not trying to compete with anybody or step on any toes, just thought it would be fun to get another design started. If you guys like them I'll get more printed,if not when their gone their gone! I love it, I want at least 2 asap for my quarters. Will these be able to be printed in any color? Maybe we could do a few in several different colors if it's not too expensive. I'll take whatever is available but would prefer something silver or grey.

After looking at it again, it kinda looks like the font on stangs might have got cut off at the top and at the G on the right. Is that just the way the S's and G's look? Or is it possible the Gem layer overlaps the Stang font layer. Still looks kick ass regardless.

Hey! Let's get back to Logos man.
I JUST got back from TKL in Englewood. Troy said he would have a price for 100 cut vinyl logos (same process as my windshield lettering "MUSTANG GT"or the "5.0 HO" on my hood scoop-see attachment below) in white and silver-probably 76 white/24 silver the first of next week. He will also quote a price on 20-25 shirts with the logo (black on white) on the back.
There would be no background with the logo...simply clean the glass with alcohol, peel of the clear plastic covering, apply the logo to the glass and then peel off the backing.
The dimension would a little smaller than 4"x4". I felt anything larger would be a bit awkward looking on the quarter windows where I assume (yeah, yeah, yeah, I know..LOL here) most will be affixed.
Give me some feed back if this is NOT what you envisioned.
I know you can't please everyone, but at least we can get a start on identifying ourselves with one damn fine car club.

Well for some reason I just saw this post and had to play catch up. I like the desings. I know there are a few who still like the idea of a skull and cross bones but I thought you could put a twist on it. What about a head of a horse blowing smoke with cam shafts crossing behind it instead of of bones. I can't draw stick people so don't even ask for a rendering of this idea. Just thought I would put it out there and see what u all thought. Later on.......
