I have just started rebuild my 5.0 and am looking for some good used up -grades.
I am not one to need top end parts; I would like to have something that is just fun to drive. ( and looks good)
Some of the things I am looking for are:
Cam (Just for the Sound)
70 mm Throttle Body and EGR Plate
Performance Mass Air Flow meter
Performance Upper/lower Intake.
Placement heads. (Rebuild)

My goal is to get to 300hp and keep it simple (low cost)

Based on the level you guys are talking, the parts your remove to upgrade may just be what I am looking for.

Thanks:p

I will have a good used E cam here soon, when I pull the engine out of my convertible. I will want about 100 out of it. It was new when I installed it and it doesn't have that many miles on it.

Is that a Ford E 303 ?

What time frame are you talking about?
Days or Weeks?

Days. I will have the engine out as soon as I can find a place to put the race car for a little while.
Yes, E303.

Sounds good
I dropped my block off today and Ben put it in back of the truck.
As you know, $ is an issue. I was not going to have it checked but when I saw that it had some work done to it in the past, I felt that it should be checked out. I want to keep the car for some time and this will tell me what I have to start with.

Once they tell you what the block is, can you check on a gasket and rings kit for me? I plan to have it back on the road before July 1st if at all possible.

Thanks for all you Help.

By the way, Nice to meet Ben, he was a lot of help. :p

To Dayton50

I have something new I need to add to my list of thing I need.
I removed the AC and would like to relocate the Power Steering up in its place. There is a Ford Kit to do this, Part number M-8511-A50. It is a bracket and parts that would allow me to use a 93 inch belt.
Can you order that for me or something that would do the same job?

Thanks.

I installed one of those ford a/c eliminator brackets the other day and man does it look a lot better than having that ugly and heavy a/c in the way!

Thanks Mike

I may get over-ruled by the wife. She likes it cool. But we both like the top down.
I have time to bring her around.
Thanks for the note back.:p

Hey DrC, I might be able to help you out some. If you buy a 70mm TB, I'll open up your stock EGR spacer to match it. I run a CNC mill and have already made up a program and run it. Maybe we can meet up or you could just ship it to me.

If you have some time to wait, I have an extra set of E7's that I was going to port out, blend the bowls and clean up the chambers. For a lot less than a set of heads + your stock heads, you can have those.

I ported a stock intake as well. I have another one I could do, same deal as with the E7's. You give me your stock intake and a little boot for the ported one. I have dyno results on my stock ported intake. +7/+17 from peak to peak and +25/+25 from 4900-5300 rpm! That's with nothing more than the intake!

Guys, this post is two years old. DRC has had his engine in his car for over a year and a half now. I don't think he is going to do any more mods to the engine for a long time.

Thanks everyone. like Mike said he helped me build it 2 years ago.
It is running great. I still plan to play with is a little more with adding the GT-40 Intake, beside that the motor is done.

I do plan to to a AOD to T-5 change some day.

Again, Mike and a lot of people helped build the motor. The last one I did was about 20 years ago.

Thanks everyone.
